Our clinical team consists of 6 GPs, 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 4 practice nurses and 2 health care assistants.

Clinicians receive excellent support by a reception team of 8, dispensary team of 8 and an administration team of 5.

We also employ a dispensary delivery driver and caretaker.

I trained in Leeds and qualified in 1990. After finishing my MRCP I moved to work at the QE in Birmingham then decided to train as a GP and joined Bidford in 1993 as their registrar GP. After being trained by Dr Robinson I worked for a short time in Warwick Hospital and then came back to join Bidford as a Partner when Dr Cavanagh left, reducing my hours to part-time in 2001.  I enjoy all the different work we do as GPs but also see a lot of patients for Family Planning and those with Gynaecology problems.

I qualified at Nottingham University in 1987 and worked for five years in fields of general medicine in Nottingham and Derby, with a particular interest in cardiology.  I then worked to qualify as a general practitioner, and came to Bidford in 1996. 

 

My particular areas of interest are issues relating to the heart, and other general medical illnesses.  I am significantly involved in running the business side of the practice, as well as GP training within the practice.   In addition, I am a director of South Warwickshire GP Federation.

I initially studied for a degree in Biochemistry at the University of Cork before undertaking my medical training at Warwick University where I qualified in 2007. Following this I trained in different specialties in the Coventry and Warwickshire area including orthopaedics, A&E and paediatrics. I started working at Bidford in 2012 and became a partner in 2015 following the retirement of Dr Robinson. I have a particular interest in minor surgical procedures, dermatology and joint problems including joint injections.

I have worked in general practice since 2009 having enjoyed a successful career in the private sector including the role of Operations Director. I started practice management at a medium sized surgery in Solihull and after 3 years moved to south Warwickshire's second largest practice which included a branch surgery.

I was elected a Director of South Warwickshire GP Federation (SWGP) in February 2014 and continue to serve in this position leading on workforce and being involved in several workstreams.

I am relishing the challenge of developing a semi rural, dispensing practice in Bidford on Avon and sustaining the quality of service provision in the well publicised difficult times for general practice.

Since qualification I have worked throughout Warwickshire in a variety of hospital specialities as part of my general practice training, during this time developing an interest in paediatrics.  I joined the practice in 2015.

Jane has been an Advanced Nurse Practitioner for 13 years both in the acute trust and in General Practice since 2013. She is an independent nurse prescriber and sees patients on the day with minor illnesses and injuries. Jane conducts enhanced health checks on patients with learning disabilities and those over 75 years of age.

Julia joined the practice in 2013 having been a practice nurse in the area for many years. Julia is an independent nurse prescriber and has recently become a student nurse mentor. She is also particularly interested in diabetes, respiratory disease, hypertension, family planning and wound management.

​I manage the reception team of 8 receptionists and ensures the smooth running of the appointment system. I am also responsible for room allocation and organisation of external clinic sessions. I am the first point of contact for patients with regard to non-clinical issues, including complaints.
