The History of the Practice

5 Victoria Rd was the home of the surgery until 1977. In this modified house there were two consultation rooms, both on the first floor. Medicines were kept under the bench seats in the waiting room and any waiting patients had to stand and sit again should medication be required!

Then we moved to the health centre on Bidford High Street, palatial at the time, consisting of four consultation rooms and subsequently having multiple extensions. It coped with the various floods except that the already small car park was usually submerged.

Due to the expansion of both the local population, and services offered by the health centre, it became obvious new premises were needed but it took 14 years of negotiation with various parties to finally move to a health centre fit for purpose. We moved into our current building in June 2014. It is the newest surgery in Warwickshire and, with its modern facilities, we find it a great place to deliver a high standard of health care. The free car park has never filled up and we are on a half hourly bus route. We have attracted many extra health services to the building and are looking forward to this expanding more in the future. We now have fifteen consultation rooms, a reflection of how primary care has developed locally.

Above all we always had a consistently strong, friendly, hardworking team who continue to do their best to provide an  excellent service to all of our patients.
